If You Have Come From Auckland
Continue on State Highway 5 via Amohau Street, McDonalds is on the right.
Proceed through the Fenton Street intersection and continue until you come to the first roundabout at Tarawera Road – Large overhead sign marks the turn-off to Lake Tarawera and The Buried Village.
Follow the sign up the hill and continue to Lake Tarawera. Lake Tarawera Water Taxi is 12 km from the roundabout.
Drive past The Blue Lake and The Green Lake and The Buried Village.
2 km on from The Buried Village, you will see a large blue sign indicating “The Landing” with a road going to the right. Turn right here.
100 metres down on your left you will find the Water Taxi office.
If you have not previously booked, call into our office and make your bookings. It is better though to book online before coming in case there are no seats available.
Continue on the same road and you will find the Water Taxi Departure location point.

If You Have Come From Taupo
Te Puia” is on the right and the Golf course on your left.
At the first roundabout turn right into Sala Street.
At the first set of lights turn right into Te Ngae Road.
Proceed through the Fenton Street intersection and continue until you come to the first roundabout at Tarawera Road – large overhead sign marks the turn-off to Lake Tarawera and The Buried Village.
Follow the sign up the hill and continue to Lake Tarawera. Lake Tarawera Water Taxi is 12 km from the roundabout.
